Spend the Day with Very Lovely Soles in Katonah, New York

I am a New Yorker, born and raised. Started in Queens, moved to Manhattan then ended up in Westchester, New York. I LOVE living here. It's like the best of both worlds. I can go to Manhattan anytime I want, but escape it just as quickly.  I am just about 45 minutes north of the city. I've fallen more and more in love with Westchester and all it (had) to offer me during my "single days" and now as a mother!

With Spring/Summer ahead and what I like to think of as a more "normal" year I wanted to share some of my favorite spots here in Westchester and how fitting that Katonah, New York will be celebrating 125 years and it is my first stop in our travel series! Katonah is on of the three hamlets comprising the township of Bedford. It's the perfect day trip for those of you in Manhattan and for those who are far away please come visit this cute little town one day!

First things first. Make sure to shop: The UpperHook : this style has a connection to the town, find out what it is when you purchase.

The Reading Room

I love coming here for a nice Latte. But trust me when I tell you if that's not your thing, there are plenty of other things to order. This cozy spot is really my go to for a snack or a deliciously healthy meal on the run. The set up is so fun. While you wait for your order check out the amazing books & gifts collection they have.  You can start (or end) your day here since its right by the Metro North train station.

Katonah Museum of Art

The current Constant Carnival: The Haas Brother exhibit is truly a fun one to see. But, whenever you are in town this small but fierce museum should definitely be on your list of things to do while you are here. Don't forget to check out the beautiful garden in the back.

Shop. Fado

A little off the beaten path, but this is one of my favorite clothing stores in town. The best styles that are on trend, but makes it look like you're not trying to hard.

 G Willikers

If you are looking for some cute kids toys you must stop by here simple as that.

 The Blue Dolphin

Early dinner before heading back home, this is your spot. There are plenty of others to dine at but ask any local there's nothing like the Blue Dolphin. Serving the town since 1987 (yup went here as a kid) you have to stop here, you just have to.

 Wild Fig Floral

After you have walked the town and eaten your delicious meal, make sure you stop by this "unique lush and imaginative gesture of beauty," flower shop and grab yourself some nice flowers.

This town is super cute and there is plenty to see. I could go on and on, but i'd be shocked if you even made it this far.  If you did, I hope you will enjoy this town as much as I do and hope this helps!
